Leading Pioneer to victory were Keziah Maldonado-lemus and Olivia Gill. Maldonado-lemus scored 11 points along with eight assists and seven steals, while Gill dropped a double-double on 17 points and 14 rebounds. Maldonado-lemus is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Marissa Christian, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
This is the second loss in a row for Mira Loma and nudges their season record down to 12-15. As for Pioneer, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 25-3.
Mira Loma does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Pioneer, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Wood at 7:00 p.m. Wood knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three games -- so hopefully Pioneer likes a good challenge.
