The Friendly Patriots struggled with assists on Thursday (the Largo Lions had 12 more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Friendly was beaten by the Lions 78-50. Friendly has not had much luck with the Lions recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Friendly's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ammanuel Bisrat, who scored 13 points along with three steals. Maddox Graham was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with seven rebounds.
Cameron Ward was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 33 points and 13 rebounds for Largo. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Ward has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of LeTre? Yawn, who scored eight points along with ten assists and eight rebounds.
Friendly has not been sharp recently as the team's lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season. As for Largo, they pushed their record up to 12-2 with that win, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season.
Friendly will take on the Clippers at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Largo, they will head out on the road to square off against the Cavaliers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Crossland is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
