After having lost a blowout in their previous game against South Knox, the Barr-Reeve Vikings were happy to have found some success on Tuesday. They walked away with a 49-36 victory over Eastern Greene. Winning is a bit easier when you work as a team to rack up seven more assists than your opponent, as Barr-Reeve did.
Barr-Reeve's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Hannah Bledsoe led the charge by dropping a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds. Bledsoe continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Ava B Carter was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with seven rebounds.
Loss or not, Eastern Greene got some senior leadership from Keylee Hudson and Bianca Wyatt. Hudson scored 18 points along with two blocks, while Wyatt. scored 15 points along with two steals. Wyatt has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played.
Barr-Reeve's victory bumped their record up to 10-11. As for Eastern Greene, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-10 record this season.
Barr-Reeve will take on Loogootee at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Eastern Greene, they will square off against South Knox at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. South Knox presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Eastern Greene in Indiana (South Knox is ranked 19th, while Eastern Greene is ranked 181st).
