The Thousand Oaks Lancers will head out to square off against the Moorpark Musketeers at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
On Thursday, Thousand Oaks needed a bit of extra time to put away Newbury Park. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Panthers 8-7. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last three times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Dane Holt was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He tossed two innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in nine consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with three runs. Those three runs gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on James Luderer, who went 3-for-5 with three runs and one stolen base. He has become a key player for Thousand Oaks: the team is 5-2 when he posts at least two runs, but 7-8 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Matthew Magruder, who earned three RBI.
Moorpark came out on top against Agoura on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run seventh inning. The Musketeers put the hurt on the Chargers with a sharp 6-0 victory. Six seems to be a good number for the Musketeers as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.
The result came thanks to Ronan O'Connell's shutout, as he gave up just three hits and racked up seven Ks. Those seven strikeouts set a new season-high mark for him.
At the plate, Moorpark let AJ Mai and Taylor Busch run wild. Mai went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI, while Busch went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Nolan Johnson was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two runs.
Thousand Oaks has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-10 record this season. As for Moorpark, they now have a winning record of 9-8.
Thousand Oaks came out on top in a nail-biter against Moorpark in their previous meeting back in February, sneaking past 4-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lancers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
