Football Recap: B O L D Comes Up Short

While it was all tied up 6-6 at halftime, B O L D was not quite Russell-Tyler-Ruthton's equal in the second half on Friday. They took a 33-20 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Knights. The Warriors just can't catch a break and have now endured three losses in a row.

Despite the loss, B O L D still got an impressive performance from Colton Baumgartner, who rushed for 79 yards and one touchdown, and also threw for 110 yards and one TD on only nine passes. Baumgartner got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 80 yards. A healthy portion of Baumgartner's aerial production (103 yards to be exact) went to Owen Baumgartner, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

B O L D's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Russell-Tyler-Ruthton, they pushed their record up to 5-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season.

B O L D and Russell-Tyler-Ruthton could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Minnesota Rankings. The Warriors will challenge Murray County Central at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank disadvantage (214 vs. 89). Meanwhile, Russell-Tyler-Ruthton (ranked 127th) will meet Springfield/Comfrey (ranked 38th) at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
