The Claremont Wolfpack will head out on the road to square off against the Upland Highlanders/Scots at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Claremont lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Montebello, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Wednesday's match. The Wolfpack's pitcher stepped up to hand the Oilers a 15-0 shutout on Wednesday. The Wolfpack's hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Thomas Plotkin made a splash while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over seven innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Claremont is 3-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 3-5-1 otherwise. Plotkin was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.
In other batting news, Reed Miller was incredible, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (three). Ramzey Farah was another key player, scoring three runs while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Upland, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Western Christian with a sharp 10-0 victory on Wednesday. The contest marked the Highlanders/Scots' most dominant win of the season so far.
Dom Nava and Julian Zambrano did most of the damage at the plate: Nava scored two runs and stole three bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances, while Zambrano went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double. Those hits marked the first that Zambrano got this season. Another player making a difference was Carson Kinnick, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Upland was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive games.
Upland moved to 3-8 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Claremont, the win got them back to even at 6-6-1.
Claremont skirted past Upland 2-1 in their previous matchup back in February of 2022. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wolfpack since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
