The Rockford Rockets will head out on the road to face off against the Dassel-Cokato Chargers at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Rockford comes in on seven and Dassel-Cokato on three.
Last Tuesday, Rockford never let their opponents score. They enjoyed a cozy 18-0 win over Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted.
It was another big night for Logan Stedman, who rushed for 140 yards and three touchdowns. Stedman hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for three straight games.
Meanwhile, Dassel-Cokato can now show off six landslide victories after their most recent game last Wednesday. Everything went their way against Princeton as Dassel-Cokato made off with a 48-22 win. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 34-14.
Rockford's win was their seventh straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 8-1. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-9 Melrose and 2-8 Minnewaska Area (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 37.4% over those games). As for Dassel-Cokato, their victory bumped their record up to 7-1.
Rockford was taken down by Dassel-Cokato 50-12 in their previous meeting back in October of 2019. Can Rockford avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
