John Milledge Academy has gone 9-1 against Brentwood recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. John Milledge Academy was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last match, but they sure didn't let that happen against Thomas Jefferson Academy on Friday. The Trojans put the hurt on the Jaguars with a sharp 14-2 win. The victory continues a trend for the Trojans in their matchups with the Jaguars: they've now won four in a row.
Remington Weaver made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over four innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple marked the first that he hit this season.
In other pitching news, Cohen Brooks looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances.

Weaver wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Asa Wall, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI, three runs, and two doubles. Those three runs gave Wall a new career-high. Bradyn Harrisson was another, scoring two runs and stealing a base.
John Milledge Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Thomas Jefferson Academy only managed two hits.
Meanwhile, Brentwood was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 7-6 heartbreaker at the hands of Glascock County.
John Milledge Academy's win bumped their record up to 13-5. As for Brentwood, their loss dropped their record down to 6-10.
John Milledge Academy took their victory against Brentwood in their previous matchup back in March by a conclusive 8-2 score. Will the Trojans repeat their success, or do the War Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
