The Upper Scioto Valley Rams fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back victories it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They walked away with a 40-28 win over Ridgemont on Thursday. That's another feather in the cap for Upper Scioto Valley, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Upper Scioto Valley to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brielle Cotterman, who scored nine points along with 21 rebounds. Cotterman is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last five games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Layla Hunsicker, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Several Golden Gophers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Anna Ramsey, who scored nine points along with four blocks. Another player making a difference was Jayda Dondrea, who scored four points along with 12 rebounds.
Upper Scioto Valley's victory bumped their record up to 5-10. As for Ridgemont, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-11.
Upper Scioto Valley will be playing in front of their home fans against Arlington at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Arlington is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak. Ridgemont will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Ridgedale at 10:00 a.m. on January 20th.
