Rancho Verde hadn't done well against Canyon Springs recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Mustangs walked away with a 4-1 win over the Cougars. The victory was familiar territory for the Mustangs, who have now won five matchups in a row.

The team relied heavily on Jacob Cabral, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Sebas Cazares, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4.

Rancho Verde's record now sits at 10-5. As for Canyon Springs, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-10.
