The James Lick Comets suffered their biggest loss since December 7, 2023 on Tuesday. They were beaten by Mt. Pleasant 67-14. James Lick has not had much luck with Mt. Pleasant recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Mt. Pleasant was led to victory by Josefina Nyquist and Snowe DeLeon. Nyquist scored 18 points, while DeLeon scored 27 points. That makes it five consecutive games in which DeLeon has scored at least a third of Mt. Pleasant's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Perez, who scored nine points.
James Lick's loss dropped their record down to 1-18. As for Mt. Pleasant, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-11.
James Lick will stay at home for another game and welcome Yerba Buena at 7:00 p.m. on January 25th. As for Mt. Pleasant, they will head out on the road to challenge Gunderson at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in California (Gunderson is ranked 1072nd, while Mt. Pleasant is ranked 1069th).
