They put the hurt on the Pirates with a sharp 20-2 victory. Considering the Demons have won 15 contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Mariela Torres made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out six batters over three innings while giving up just two earned runs but no hits. Those six strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.
In other batting news, Daely Peterson was a standout: she went a perfect 4-for-4 with five RBI, three doubles, and two runs. Those three doubles gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Reagan Smith, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles.
Golden was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .613. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .360 or higher in six consecutive matchups.
Golden's win bumped their record up to 16-5. As for Pomona, their loss dropped their record down to 2-16.
