The Watsonville Wildcatz lost against the Monterey Dores back in December of 2019, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Watsonville was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 30-29 to Monterey. Watsonville has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Watsonville's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Leilani Yasin, who scored ten points along with nine rebounds, and Stephanie Martinez who scored ten points along with three steals.
Watsonville now has a losing record at 6-7. As for Monterey, their victory ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 4-8.
Watsonville will take on Hollister at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hollister presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Watsonville in California (Hollister is ranked 198th, while Watsonville is ranked 601st). As for Monterey, they will head out on the road to face off against Alisal at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Alisal is coming into the contest hot, having won their last eight games.
