The North East Grape Pickers entered their tilt with Portersville Christian with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. North East sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 49-46 win over Portersville Christian on Friday.
North East got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Alexandra Cozzens out in front who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds. Cozzens is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last five games she's played. Gigi Gaston was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
North East now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Portersville Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-4.
North East and Eisenhower will face off at 7:15 p.m. on January 4th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Eisenhower has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
