Softball Recap: Waverly Takes Down Ranked Hastings

Waverly faced Hastings in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Vikings had just enough and edged out the Tigers 11-9. The win was nothing new for the Vikings as they're now sitting on five straight.

The team relied heavily on Reagan Glassburner, who went 4-for-5 with one home run, five RBI, and two doubles. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jill Hind, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Waverly was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .412. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .412 or higher in five consecutive contests.

Waverly's victory bumped their record up to 20-10. As for Hastings, their loss dropped their record down to 21-9.

Waverly will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Tigers: the pair will be back at it again later today.
