Northview had lost seven straight at home, but on Thursday they dropped down to 2-10 to make it eight. They lost 8-2 to the North Springs Spartans. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Spartans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 6-1 last Monday.

Stephanie Bombard spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and seven unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up seven Ks. Those seven strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.
On the hitting side, Northview saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Reese Cook, who went 1-for-3 with one run.
As for North Springs, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 5-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.2 runs over those games.
On North Springs' side, they also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and she was also dialed-in: Kate Lott gave up two runs (both of which were unearned) on two hits.
At the plate, North Springs let Jordan Masker and Jamie Masker run wild. Jordan went 1-for-4 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Jamie went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. That's the most hits Jamie has posted since back in September of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Leila Madesko, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Looking ahead, Northview will challenge Norcross at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for North Springs, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against St. Pius X Catholic at 5:30 p.m.
