The Northeastern Bobcats put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They put the hurt on Red Land with a sharp 55-30 win. The result was nothing new for Northeastern, who have now won three contests by 21 points or more so far this season.
Northeastern's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Lauralye Kennedy led the charge by scoring 18 points. Those 18 points set a new season-high mark for her. Colleen Finnegan was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with nine rebounds and four steals.
Northeastern's victory bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Red Land, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Northeastern will challenge New Oxford at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Red Land will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Palmyra at 7:00 p.m. on December 19th.
