The Hesperia Scorpions lost against the Oak Hills Bulldogs back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Hesperia's tough 63-39 defeat to the Bulldogs might stick with them for a while. While losing is never fun, Hesperia can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 509th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 163rd).
Despite the defeat, Hesperia saw an underclassman step up: Annabel Sanchez scored 11 points along with eight rebounds. Sanchez has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Berlynn Miramontes, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Hesperia's loss dropped their record down to 12-16. As for Oak Hills, they have been performing well recently as they've won 14 of their last 17 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 19-8 record this season.
Hesperia does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Oak Hills also has no future games currently scheduled.
