The Bishop Lynch Friars will head out on the road to take on the Legacy Christian Academy Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Bishop Lynch has given up an average of 32.6 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Bishop Lynch fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against Prestonwood Christian on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell 35-28 to the Lions. The Friars have struggled against the Lions recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, Bishop Lynch got top-tier performance from Grayson Waldrop, who threw for 316 yards and three TDs.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Legacy Christian Academy). They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Trinity Christian 52-22. The Eagles pushed the score to 45-22 by the end of the third, a deficit the Trojans had little chance of recovering from.
Bishop Lynch better keep an eye on Jaxson Ladd. He was instrumental in Legacy Christian Academy's win, rushing for 135 yards and three scores while picking up 7.9 yards per carry. Those 135 rushing yards gave Ladd a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Lawrence, who threw for 139 yards and one touchdown while completing 76.9% of his passes.
Legacy Christian Academy was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 276 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.
Legacy Christian Academy didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Bubba Barnes, Korrian Gray, and Nate Jefferson picked up one apiece. Barnes got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Bishop Lynch now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Legacy Christian Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 4-1.
Bishop Lynch didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Legacy Christian Academy in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, but they still walked away with a 28-24 win. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Lawrence, who rushed for 62 yards and one TD, and also threw for 193 yards and one touchdown.
