For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Monroe Area and Stephens County meet (four straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Tuesday. The Monroe Area Purple Hurricanes came up short against the Stephens County Indians, falling 14-4. The loss continues a trend for the Purple Hurricanes in their meetings with the Indians: they've now lost three in a row.

Parker Sims made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with two runs and one triple. Parker Ashley also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Monroe Area now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Stephens County, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-1.

Looking ahead, Monroe Area will welcome Social Circle at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Stephens County, they will square off against East Hall at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
