Baseball Recap: Make It Two in a Row for Eureka

Eureka played against Salesian College Preparatory on Wednesday and won via forfeit.

Eureka let Garrett Levitt and Ryder Mitchell run wild. Levitt went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI, while Mitchell went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one RBI. Levitt has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryson Burns, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one run.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Eureka kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

The win made it two in a row for Eureka and bumps their season record up to 7-4. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 4 runs in those games. As for Salesian College Preparatory, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-6-1.

Looking ahead, Eureka will challenge Rancho Cotate at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Loggers are facing the Cougars at the right time seeing as the Cougars are stuck on a three-game losing streak. Salesian College Preparatory will be paying especially close attention to Eureka's contest: after Eureka faces off against Clear Lake, they'll take on Salesian College Preparatory again at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday.
