This season hasn't been kind to the North Star Cougars, who are still winless after their sixth match. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 55-32 walloping at the hands of Allegany on Tuesday.
Despite the loss, North Star still got an impressive performance from Abby Barnick, who scored 21 points along with three steals. The contest was Barnick's third in a row with at least ten points.
North Star's defeat was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-6. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 29.3 points per game. As for Allegany, their victory bumped their record up to 1-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. North Star won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Claysburg-Kimmel at 6:00 p.m. on December 13th. Allegany will be home for the holidays to greet Frankfort at 7:00 p.m. on December 20th.
