San Francisco Waldorf has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against the Gateway Gators at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. San Francisco Waldorf's defense has only allowed 25.4 points per game this season, so Gateway's offense will have their work cut out for them.
In what's become a running theme this season, San Francisco Waldorf gave their fans yet another huge victory on Thursday. They claimed a resounding 54-22 win over Jewish Community at home. Given San Francisco Waldorf's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 437th, while Jewish Community is ranked 1127th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Henry Hanlon continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 24 points. That makes it four consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of San Francisco Waldorf's points. Another player making a difference was Aasia Williams, who scored ten points.
Meanwhile, Gateway's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fifth straight loss. They fell to Jewish Community 28-24.
San Francisco Waldorf pushed their record up to 11-1 with that win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.8 points per game. As for Gateway, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-12.
Everything came up roses for San Francisco Waldorf against Gateway in their previous matchup back in January of 2023 as the team secured a 71-41 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for San Francisco Waldorf since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
