Basketball Recap: Nebraska Lutheran Takes a Loss

Nebraska Lutheran lost against Weeping Water back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Nebraska Lutheran Knights took a 47-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Weeping Water Indians. The Knights have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

When it comes to explaining why Nebraska Lutheran lost, don't look at Rebecca Hueske. Despite the final result, she posted 20 points and six steals. Hueske is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last nine games she's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Samantha Hueske, who earned 11 points and six steals.

Weeping Water's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kalison Miller, who put up 12 points. Another player making a difference was Brinkley Mcadams, who had 11 points.

Nebraska Lutheran's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Weeping Water, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-1.

Nebraska Lutheran will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Osceola at 6:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. As for Weeping Water, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 44-25 loss against Raymond Central on the 27th.
