The Desert Mountain Wolves will head out on the road to  challenge  the Ironwood Ridge Nighthawks  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. Desert Mountain knows how to get  points on the board -- the  squad has finished with 31 points or more in their past four matchups -- so hopefully Ironwood Ridge likes a good challenge.
On Friday, Desert Mountain humbled  Cactus Shadows with  a  49-20 victory. The  victory continues a trend for the Wolves in their matchups with the Falcons: they've now won six in a row.

  Grant Garduno and  Easton Conner were among the main playmakers for Desert Mountain as the former threw for 243 yards and four  touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes and the latter gained 126 total yards and two touchdowns. Those  four  passing touchdowns gave  Garduno a new career-high.  Kai Hasenyager was in the mix  as well, providing Desert Mountain with two scores.
 Meanwhile, Ironwood Ridge fell victim to Marana and their airtight defense  on Friday. They were dealt  a  49-0 loss at the hands of the Tigers. The  contest marked the first time this year in which the Nighthawks were not able to get on the board.
 Ironwood Ridge's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Desert Mountain, their win bumped their record up to 5-1.
 Everything came up roses for Desert Mountain against Ironwood Ridge when the teams last played  back in November of 2021, as the  team secured  a  59-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wolves since the  squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
