Cody Wright was his usual excellent self, rushing for 144 yards and three scores while picking up 8.5 yards per carry, and also picking up 134 receiving yards and one touchdown. Those 134 receiving yards gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Maxson Smiley, who threw for 341 yards and three TDs while completing 76.2% of his passes.

Meanwhile, after only seven points in their last contest, Scott made sure to put some points up on the board against Goodland on Friday. The Beavers put the hurt on the Cowboys with a sharp 42-22 win. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Beavers' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas football rankings (they are ranked 44th, while the Cowboys are ranked 145th).
Scott's victory bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Colby, the win was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 3-4.
