Glendale has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge the West Branch Warriors at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Glendale focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 32 on Thursday.
Glendale struggled with assists on Thursday (the Blue Pirates had 14 more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Glendale was outmatched by the Blue Pirates at home and fell 60-15. While losing is never fun, Glendale can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 603rd, while the Blue Pirates are ranked 97th).
Glendale's loss came about despite a quality game from Madison Peterson, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 13 rebounds. That was a full 100% of Glendale's points, marking the seventh time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Meanwhile, West Branch humbled the Golden Tide with a 49-18 victory. The victory made it back-to-back wins for West Branch.
Glendale's defeat dropped their record down to 6-15. As for West Branch, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season.
Glendale didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against the Warriors when the teams last played back in January, but they still walked away with a 43-37 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Glendale since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
