Shadow Hills is 10-0 against Palm Springs since December of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Shadow Hills Knights will look to defend their home court against the Palm Springs Indians at 6:30 p.m. The timing is sure in Shadow Hills' favor as the squad sits on six straight wins at home while Palm Springs has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
Last Saturday, Shadow Hills was able to grind out a solid victory over Los Altos, taking the game 41-33. Given Shadow Hills' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 102nd, while Los Altos is ranked 314th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Shadow Hills' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Victoria Hyatt led the charge by scoring 18 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. Hyatt is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Skylah Archer was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with 13 rebounds and two steals.
Palm Springs suffered their biggest defeat since December 21, 2023 on Monday. Their rough 42-16 defeat to Palm Desert might stick with them for a while. Palm Springs has not had much luck with Palm Desert recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Eiresslee Wells put forth a good effort for the losing side as she scored eight points along with nine rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Miley Flores, who scored three points along with two steals.
Shadow Hills' win bumped their record up to 19-4. As for Palm Springs, their loss dropped their record down to 9-14.
Everything came up roses for Shadow Hills against Palm Springs in their previous meeting back in December of 2023 as the squad secured a 77-18 win. With Shadow Hills ahead 37-12 at the half, the game was all but over already.
