On Thursday, Bakersfield Christian was able to grind out a solid win over Westview, taking the game 49-40. Ava King was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 12 points and 22 rebounds. Those 22 rebounds set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Sara Shein , who scored 12 points along with five rebounds.
Westview's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kaleah Medeiros, who scored 19 points along with eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Dara Oluwafemi, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds and three blocks.
Bakersfield Christian has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season. As for Westview, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-4.
