On Friday, Western Christian was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 48-42 to Avalon. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Western Christian in their matchups with Avalon: they've now lost four in a row.
Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, San Gabriel Academy's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They received a tough blow as they fell 46-29 to The Webb Schools.
Western Christian has been struggling recently, as they've lost ten of their last 11 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-18 record this season. As for San Gabriel Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 8-6.
Western Christian ended up a good deal behind San Gabriel Academy in their previous meeting last Tuesday, losing 43-27. Can Western Christian avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
