After a string of six wins, the Blythewood Bengals's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They took a 58-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of Fort Mill. If Blythewood hoped to take revenge for the 67-39 defeat against they when the teams met, then they were left disappointed.
Blythewood's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Taurus Lewis Jr, who scored ten points along with three steals. Lewis Jr hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Will Olden, who scored 13 points.
Leading Fort Mill to victory were Nas Berry and Kishawn Anderson. Berry scored 22 points, while Anderson scored 12 points along with five rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Anderson has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Darryl Carrington, who scored eight points.
Blythewood's loss dropped their record down to 12-5. As for Fort Mill, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 11-6.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Blythewood will take on Nation Ford at 3:45 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Nation Ford focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 32 on Wednesday. As for Fort Mill, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Rock Hill at 8:00 p.m. Hopefully Rock Hill focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Wednesday.
