Basketball Recap: Jennalyn Gerona Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Sun Valley Magnet

Northridge Academy won the last time they faced Sun Valley Magnet and things went their way on Saturday too. The Northridge Academy Pumas blew past the Sun Valley Magnet Pioneers 48-28.

Northridge Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jennalyn Gerona led the charge by going 7 of 9 on her way to 19 points and five rebounds. The dominant performance gave Gerona a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Janelle Estrella, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine boards.

Northridge Academy's win bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Sun Valley Magnet, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Northridge Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, an 81-3 victory against Fulton on the 9th. After both having extra time off, Sun Valley Magnet and Panorama will shake off the cobwebs and take on one another at 4:00 p.m. on December 30th.
