The Towanda Black Knights were the 41-21 winner over the Troy Trojans when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Towanda was beaten by Troy 64-32 on Thursday. Towanda has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Troy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Alyssa Parks led the charge by dropping a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Giana Renzi, who scored 12 points along with three steals.
Towanda now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Troy, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Towanda will take on Williamsport at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Williamsport is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road. As for Troy, they have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Cowanesque Valley at 7:00 p.m. on January 17th. Cowanesque Valley is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak.
