The MAST Charter II Voyagers lost against Masterman back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. MAST Charter II was beaten by Masterman 67-25. MAST Charter II was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-14.
Masterman was led to victory by Sophia Brunelli and Jocelyn Goldstein. Brunelli scored 18 points along with seven steals and five rebounds, while Goldstein scored 29 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. That makes it 12 consecutive games in which Goldstein has scored at least a third of Masterman's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Shahkzoda Ilhomova, who scored seven points.
MAST Charter II's defeat was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-4. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 19.8 points per game. As for Masterman, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 12-0.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. MAST Charter II will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Philadelphia Academy Charter at 3:15 p.m. on January 26th. As for Masterman, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Overbrook at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Overbrook will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 490th, while Masterman is ranked 77th).
