The Corry Beavers lost against the North East Grape Pickers back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Corry took a 42-27 bruising from North East.
North East's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Alexandra Cozzens led the charge by scoring 18 points along with five rebounds and five steals. Those five steals set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Kayla Forsythe, who scored four points along with 12 rebounds and five assists.
Corry now has a losing record at 3-4. As for North East, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.
Corry will be playing in front of their home fans against Eisenhower at 11:00 a.m. on January 6th. North East won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Portersville Christian at 3:00 p.m. on December 29, 2023.
