Despite the defeat, Galva saw an underclassman step up: Blake Stahl scored 22 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Stahl has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Cyrus Lilly, who scored four points along with nine rebounds.
Galva has been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 13 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-19 record this season. As for Mercer County, the victory was the 14th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 23-6.
Galva will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Knoxville at 7:30 p.m. As for Mercer County, they will head out on the road to face off against Annawan at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Mercer County is coming into the game with five straight wins on the road, so Annawan is out to stop a squad with plenty of momentum.
