Monrovia has gone  a perfect 3-0 against Flintridge Prep recently and they'll look to pad the win column further  on Saturday. The Wildcats will be playing in front of their home fans against the Wolves  at 10:00  a.m. The  squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Monrovia has struggled recently with three losses in a row, while Flintridge Prep will arrive with five straight  wins.
On Thursday, Monrovia didn't have quite enough to beat La Canada and fell  2-1. That's two games in a row now that the Wildcats have lost by  just one  run.
 Alex Myers was a  force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he  struck out six batters over  six innings while giving up just one earned run off   three  hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't  given up  more than one  earned run in four consecutive appearances.

Meanwhile, Flintridge Prep beat Polytechnic 4-1  on Friday.
 Will Grable made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he  tossed two innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   one  hit. Grable was also big at the plate,  getting on base  in three of his four plate appearances with one  run.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Gavin Fong, who  got on base  in three of his four plate appearances with two  runs. Flintridge Prep is undefeated when  Fong posts two or  more  runs, but 5-13 otherwise.
 Flintridge Prep pushed their record up to 9-13 with the  victory, which was their third straight  on the road. The  road  wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Monrovia, their defeat dropped their record down to 19-6.
