The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Clayton Valley Charter came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 194th, while Dublin is ranked 457th).
Despite the loss, Clayton Valley Charter still got an impressive performance from Adrianna Surney, who scored 14 points along with 6 rebounds and 5 steals. Surney scored a full 33.3% of Clayton Valley Charter's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Ella Scott was another key contributor, scoring 7 points along with 7 rebounds.
Clayton Valley Charter's loss dropped their record down to 4-1. As for Dublin, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Clayton Valley Charter will take on American at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Dublin, they will be playing at home against Castro Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Castro Valley focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up seven on Wednesday.
