Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Del Campo). Everything went their way against the Yuba City Honkers on Wednesday as they made off with a 13-4 victory. The Cougars not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 17, 2024.
Brody Bieneman was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over 5.1 innings while giving up four earned runs off six hits. Bieneman was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in April of 2024.
In other batting news, Jaylen Cuevas was excellent, scoring three runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Alex Young also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Del Campo was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Del Campo's record is now 6-10-1. As for Yuba City, with the loss, they broke their 11-game winning streak and moved their record to 14-3.
Del Campo will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Honkers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
