After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Hillcrest, the Shields Panthers were happy to have found some success on Friday. They had just enough and edged T.R. Miller out 42-39. For Shields, this counts as revenge for the 65-48 loss T.R. Miller walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2022.
Shields' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jalance Kimbrough, who scored 16 points along with 3 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Adrian Watts, who scored 7 points along with 10 rebounds and 3 steals.
Despite the loss, T.R. Miller still got an impressive performance from Heath Kirkland, who scored 23 points along with 5 rebounds. The match was Kirkland's third in a row with at least ten points. Brodie Anthony was another key contributor, scoring 7 points.
Shields' victory bumped their record up to 2-3. As for T.R. Miller, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-1.
Shields won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Wilcox Central at 7:00 p.m. on December 2nd. Wilcox Central will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive. T.R. Miller will take on Excel at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
