After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Menlo School, the Aptos Mariners were happy to have found some success on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 51-24 win over Harbor on the road. With Aptos ahead 29-8 at the half, the match was all but over already.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Aptos to victory, but perhaps none more so than Berkeley Ashby, who scored six points along with eight rebounds and five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabby Wickham, who scored 12 points.
Aptos' victory bumped their record up to 11-7. As for Harbor, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-11.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Aptos will take on Scotts Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Harbor, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Santa Cruz at 6:00 p.m. on January 19th. Santa Cruz presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Harbor in California (Santa Cruz is ranked 230th, while Harbor is ranked 1082nd).
