Mendon Unity and Camp Point Central are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2022, but likely not for long. The Mustangs will venture away from home to face off against the Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Mendon Unity will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.
On Thursday, Mendon Unity made easy work of Barry Western and carried off a 17-5 win. Considering the Mustangs have won seven matchups by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Avery Frese made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April.
In other batting news, Mendon Unity got a massive performance out of Sawyer Allen, who went 1-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI Allen has posted since back in March of 2025. Blake Arnsman was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.
Mendon Unity always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .538. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, Camp Point Central unfortunately witnessed the end of their eight-game winning streak on Friday. They came up short against Pittsfield, falling 10-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Panthers have suffered since April 19, 2025.
Briggs Wiskirchen made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run and three RBI.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Wednesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Mendon Unity has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.3 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Camp Point Central struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7.3 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
