The Delano Tigers lost against the Taft Wildcats back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Delano took a 54-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of Taft. Delano has not had much luck with Taft recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Despite the loss, Delano still got an impressive performance from Delilah Carino, who scored 22 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Carino has scored all season.
Taft got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Alaysia Taylor out in front who almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Shelby Gregory, who scored 11 points along with three steals.
Delano has not been sharp recently as the team has lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-19 record this season. As for Taft, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 11-14 record this season.
Delano does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Taft, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Immanuel Christian at 6:00 p.m. Immanuel Christian is coming into the matchup with five straight victories on the road, so Taft is out to stop a squad with plenty of momentum.
