The Punxsutawney Chucks will head out on the road to take on the Homer-Center Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Punxsutawney is no doubt hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
Punxsutawney's and United's matchup on Monday was close at halftime, but Punxsutawney turned on the heat in the second half with 34 points. Punxsutawney really took it to United for the full four quarters, racking up a 61-34 victory at home.
Meanwhile, Homer-Center came into Thursday's contest having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They blew past Purchase Line, posting a 67-36 win at home. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Homer-Center has managed all season.
Punxsutawney now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Homer-Center, their win bumped their record up to 9-12.
Everything came up roses for Punxsutawney against Homer-Center in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 as the team secured a 60-27 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Punxsutawney since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
