Hobbs is 9-1 against Organ Mountain since September of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Eagles will head out to challenge the Knights at 7:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Hobbs has three straight wins, Organ Mountain has six straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Organ Mountain better have a healthy lead at halftime, because if Hobbs' game on Friday is any indication, that's when Hobbs really gets things going. The Eagles took their contest with ease, bagging a 51-22 victory over Clovis. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four games by 21 points or more this season.

Junior Medrano continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 124 yards and one TD on only 12 carries, while also throwing for 139 yards and a pair of touchdowns. What's more, he racked up 135.8 passer rating, the most he's had since back in October of 2024. Hobbs also got a significant boost from Demarcus Hill, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 81 yards.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Hobbs was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 313 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 242 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Hobbs' defense and their three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Amryn Wheeler, Jeremiah Mackey, and Samuel Zimbardi, who each picked up one sack apiece. Hobbs received some extra help from Wheeler, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.
Meanwhile, Organ Mountain played a tough matchup on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 54-8 loss at the hands of Centennial. While losing is never fun, the Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Mexico football rankings (they are ranked 32nd, while the Hawks are ranked fourth).
Organ Mountain's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Hobbs, their win bumped their record up to 6-2.
Everything came up roses for Hobbs against Organ Mountain in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 56-6 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
