The La Salle Lancers will be playing in front of their home fans against the St. Paul Swordsmen at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for La Salle and four for St. Paul.
La Salle lost a heartbreaker when they last took the court, but unfortunately for them the loss they were handed on on Thursday was a bit more commanding. They had to suffer through a rough 58-20 loss at the hands of St. Anthony. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points La Salle has scored all season.
St. Paul suffered their biggest defeat since December 2, 2023 on Tuesday. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 60-36 walloping at the hands of St. Anthony. While losing is never fun, St. Paul can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 284th, while St. Anthony is ranked 19th).
La Salle's defeat dropped their record down to 19-4. As for St. Paul, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-13 record this season.
La Salle strolled past St. Paul in their previous meeting on January 4th by a score of 52-36. Will La Salle repeat their success, or does St. Paul have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
