The Avalon Lancers suffered their closest loss yet this season on Tuesday. They fell just short of Quartz Hill by a score of 41-38. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Avalon in their matchups with Quartz Hill: they've now lost five in a row.
Mandy Frozina continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Quartz Hill, scoring eight points along with six steals and five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Alonna Rollins, who scored eight points along with five rebounds.
Avalon's loss was their fourth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 4-7. As for Quartz Hill, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 10-8 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Avalon will take on The Webb Schools at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. That game will pit two of the most dominant players against one another: Xajani Badkar and Xemina Moreno. Quartz Hill on the road again on Thursday and play against West Ranch at 6:00 p.m. on January 11th.
