St. Helena and Clear Lake squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but St. Helena had to settle for second. They came up short against the Cardinals, falling 8-1. The Saints' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

St. Helena saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cole Joy, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one run.

St. Helena's loss dropped their record down to 18-7. As for Clear Lake, they pushed their record up to 17-5 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home.

St. Helena does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Clear Lake, they will challenge Berean Christian at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Cardinals' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 7.3 runs per game this season.
