The Campbell Spartans fell victim to the Westlake Lions''s stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They took a serious blow against the Lions, falling 35-0. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Campbell in their matchups with Westlake: they've now lost eight in a row.
The critical scores for Westlake came from Tomir Bransford, Travis Smith Jr, and Miles Davis.
Campbell's loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 3-7. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 9-1 Carrollton and 7-3 Wheeler (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 65% over those games). As for Westlake, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-2.
Campbell will head out on the road to face off against McEachern at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. McEachern is coming into the match hot, having won their last six games. As for Westlake, they will be playing at home against Marietta at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Marietta will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings (they are ranked 65th, while Westlake is ranked tenth).
