The Ontario Jaguars suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Thursday. They had to suffer through a rough 85-54 loss at the hands of Chino. Ontario was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 43-14.
Several Jaguars players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Hailey McDow, who scored 15 points along with three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Grace Poulava, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 13 rebounds.
Chino's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Tess Oldenburg led the charge by dropping a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. Oldenburg is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted two or more in the last seven games she's played. Another player making a difference was Calise Gibson, who scored 17 points along with six steals and five assists.
Ontario's defeat was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 10-5. As for Chino, the win was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-3.
Ontario will be playing in front of their home fans against Don Lugo at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Don Lugo focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 26 on Thursday. As for Chino, they will head out on the road to challenge Baldwin Park at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Baldwin Park has now lost 14 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 20.
